Great pool, hot tub and sauna. Has a gym and rock climbing wall too. Bring loonies for the lockers. Can get very busy on weekends or holidays. It's a shame the pool gets closed for entended periods of time for repairs every year.
Awesome rec centre in Canmore. There is a pool, climbing gym and much more. Costs only $36 for a family with 2 adults to enter the facilities.
If you want to go to the climbing gym, it's an extra $6 for a harness. You can use the auto belay system if you don't take the training. Or you can skip the rental and just do the bouldering.
Elevation place also has a public library and cafe.
I had a fantastic experience at this facility. The staff was exceptionally friendly, ensuring that every visitor felt welcome and comfortable. The amenities were top-notch: the steam room provided a relaxing, warm ambiance; the hot tub's strong jets offered a rejuvenating soak; floating along the lazy river was a serene experience; and the blow-up obstacle course added a playful and adventurous element to the visit. Each feature was well-maintained and enhanced the overall enjoyment of my time there. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking a blend of relaxation and fun.
Last time we will visit here. Always would stop by after a day in the mountains. Not anymore. Long wait to get into a half full not very hot, hot tub. Then the waterslide is closed and they have taken out all the fun kids activities away(basketball net). The place was empty and everyone is standing in line for a hot tub that is empty. Crazy. Whoever is making decisions here needs to go. Thought last visit was a one-off. Apparently not.
Pool change room was disgusting, looked like it has not been cleaned since they opened. Had to wait in line for 15 minutes to get into a hot tub that could fit way more than the “maximum capacity”. Waterside was closed and there was no indication the waterslide was closed until I had already paid for my family to get in so my kids could use the water slides. Would rather drive to Banff and go to the Hot Springs. Although you pay more you would get better quality.
Great place for the family. We took the kids climbing then for a swim. The had a few walls with auto belays, which is great for kids. We went on a holiday, they were at max capacity so we had to wait about 15 minutes before we were allowed in.
Highly recommended for families. The pool facility is amazing! Both the kids area which has a “slow river” (first for me), basketball in the water, bucket that drops a ton of water on you and other fun activities.
The bigger pool has plenty of fun floaty toys which the kids loved! They also allow kids to jump at the deep area of the pool (2.5m, ~7ft).
The showers were very convenient with free lockers (you put a dollar coin that you get back when you unlock). There’s also a family option which is big and roomy.
Probably the best pool we’ve been to. Highly recommended for a rainy day in the summer (which is what we had), or any day…
An all-around great rec center for the family. They have a good gym, a swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi and let's not forget about indoor climbing.
The staff is super friendly, the prices are affordable and parking is convenient.
